The Body as a Paintbrush
Summer Camp 2017
The Body as a Paint Brush, a fun and innovative one-week camp for children 3-5 years of age to explore, through dance works of art by Matisse, Picasso, Pollock and more. Led by movement specialists Dina Gray (Avenues: The World School) and Sarah Turner (The Episcopal School), "The Body as a Paint Brush" blends art history with a unique study of the creative process. Children will create dances to the music that inspired some of the world's most famous masterpieces, in the process discovering how artists move their paint brushes to create the colors and shapes that define their art. The camp will also give children the opportunity to create art pieces to use in the dances as props and costume pieces.
